Blog post No 27. Today I become a teenager!

I am a teenager!

I am 13 today.

begrudgingly wore a party hat for a few seconds.

Then I opened my pressie.

It was a new collar with a famous mouse on it.

I like mice, I like sniffing them out and woofing at them.

The rest of the day I shall potter around and probably sleep a lot.

Apparently that's what teenagers like to do...

They know everything, sleep till midday and then eat some snacks, making sure they leave crumbs everywhere so the humans can moan at us.

Bring on the snacks!!!

 I am really going to enjoy being a teenager.

Blog post No 26. Me again!

 HELLO

Did you miss me?

I must apologise for not putting 'paw to paper' sooner but I didn't have too much to write about.

I spent most of the summer trying to keep cool.  Boy was it hot.

It was so hot that I had multiple Spa Days to keep my coat nice and short.

I know I like to help around the garden a lot but next Summer I am definitely staying away from the Potting shed where the Miracle Grow is kept!

 I am sure just looking at it made my fur grow even quicker!

This was me most days, in front of my very own fan.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway on to my little bit of news.
As you know I have been in my foster home for over 2 years now and I am settled and apparently doing rather well, I am behaving and not barking anywhere near as much as I used to.
In fact I consider myself to be the perfect house guest.
So, Terrier SOS have said I can become a sanctuary dog and stay here as a permanent foster.
This is brilliant news for me as it means I can relax and enjoy my retirement here, somewhere I know and love to be.
The sofas are comfy, the food is really tasty and the treats are plentiful.
I also have lots of space to mooch and potter about in and that suits me just fine.
So that is my news.
I will pop back here from time to time if anything exciting happens but apparently retirement is a busy time in one's life so I shall probably be very busy now
 .....keeping away from the Miracle Grow
and
Relaxing.
Blog post No 25. The big orange monster.
Hello again
The weather has been sunny and warm recently and having the choice to potter in and out of the house has been really nice for me.
Sometimes I just like to sit and watch out for the cat that lives near us  watch the birds in the garden.
One of my favourite things to do is to play "Sprinkles"
My staff put treats on the grass and I love to sniff them out with my nose.
Then eat them.
It is great fun
However, there is one problem.
The BIG orange monster.
The monster always hibernates during the winter months then comes back around Spring time.
Then it always seems to run onto MY lawn as soon as my treats appear.
I have to be fast to get to them first because it has a very big mouth!
Then eat my treats very quickly.
Blog post No 24. I am 12 today!
I am 12 years young today.
First thing after breakfast was to sit for my official pawtrait.
I am rather chuffed with my new bandana and bow tie.
Please excuse my soggy beard.
I did have a brush before the photos.....honest!
Posing for photos is thirsty work!
I love my new birthday cake toy.
Happy 12th Birthday to me.
Blog post No 23. Keeping busy and helping
It's been a great week here.
The sun has been shining and I have been able to spend loads of time outside pottering about and enjoying the sunshine.
Of course I am not totally idle.
I move my head from side to side so that I can keep a close eye on the work going on around me.
As soon as the wheelbarrow was full it was my responsibility to ensure everything was up to the high standards I expect.
Yep, looks good to me.
Back to flexing my neck and resting.
Oh I do love being in the garden, helping my foster family and watching the world go by.
Blog post No 22. Ear update
I have Terrierific news to tell you.
My left ear is better.
My Vet said I don't need any more drops in my ear and I don't have to go for any more appointments. I just need to have my ear wash applied once a week.
To celebrate  I came home and snuggled up to my pal Barker and told him about my good news.
He is a good listener and then we fell asleep together.
Blog post No 20. Have you missed me?
 Hello
I have been rather lazy and not been putting my paws to the keyboard to update my blog.
I am not a fan of winter and prefer to stay in the warm, sit by the fire,  do nothing and just stir for my snacks and meals.
I did have a Spa day to keep my coat in tip top condition. Nothing too drastic as I needed to keep warm when I went outside.
Before and After
`````````````

Unfortunately,  during the past few months,  I have had a few problems with my left ear.

It became a little red,  I didn't shake my head or scratch my ear, but my foster family decided to get me checked out.

Now as you may remember I love going to the Vets.

I do tend to forget my manners and pull whoever is on the other end of my lead into the waiting room.

It is such a great place to go to, rooms full of humans who love to come over and tell me how gorgeous I am and give me cuddles.

After all my cuddles a nice vet lady took me into a room where I could stand on a table and give her lots of kisses.

She looked into my ear and unfortunately diagnosed that I had an ear infection and she couldn't even see my ear drum. She took a swab, which wasn't very comfortable, and it was found that I had a bacteria in my ear, apparently it was a friendly bacteria and treatable with lots of special ear drops.

We toddled off home with ear wash and ear drops and crossed our paws the antibiotics would work.

I was not that keen on having them twice a day but I did sit there like a very good boy knowing I was going to have tasty chicken treats when it was all done.

I have been going back to the Vets at regular intervals for check ups and more ear drops so that my left ear will remain healthy. I have another appointment next week and will let you know how I get on.

Off out for a little potter now.

I have a Spa Day booked for next week, so I will look handsome again.

I can confirm I am not fat, no pounds gained during the winter months,  just a lot of fur!

Blog post No 19. Happy Christmas.

I am in a teeny weeny bit of trouble.

All the presents I helped to sort and wrap over the past few weeks are apparently meant to stay that way till Christmas Morning.

(Apparently lots of the packages seem to have chewed corners now....)

My staff didn't believe me when I said there may be a mouse in the house!

OK.

I put my paws up.

I may have been just a little bit naughty.

I was only testing the quality of the wrapping.... with my teeth!

HONESTLY!

So here I am

Trying to blend in with the sofa and look the picture of innocence.

Please don't tell  Santa I have been in the naughty corner.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY

 HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Love

Present headquarters.

WOW!

So many  parcels have arrived from the Terrier SOS Christmas Wish List.

They are all being opened and sorted and every Terrier SOS foster dog will be receiving a HUGE box of goodies on Christmas morning.

I have been helping my staff to sort  everything  and been barking out orders to keep them focussed on the big job we have.

I do like to help and as I am a responsible chap I can be 100% trusted not to "taste test" the contents of the packets......

Well OK, perhaps I can be trusted 99% of the time.

Just a few more boxes to open and sort.

Thank you for sending us so many lovely presents.

We are going to have the best Christmas.

Blog Post No 16. Christmas Wish List.

 All of us Terrier SOS dogs, who are currently being fostered,  have put our heads together and come up with a really great Christmas Wish List.

There are many things on the list that suit us all.... Toys, treats, bones, chews..... the list is endless.

We are all very excited.

My staff will receive all the goodies and I will lend a paw and help sort everything and then supervise the distribution to my fellow foster pals.

Here is the link...

Blog post No 15. Wish List.

Me again!

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I posted here.

I have been doing a lot of this recently.

The new chap is settling in.
He seems to be high maintenance, I wonder when he will realise that snoozing is a great hobby to have?

He has his own blog as well now.

https://wirefoxterriergriffin.blogspot.com

(Well,  I did say there was no way I was ever going to share anything of mine.)

We are never going to be bosom buddies and that suits me just fine.

I have been writing my Christmas List of the goodies and toys I would love to receive this year.

I think I have been a really good boy this year, so paws crossed, I will receive some lovely things.

Need to squeeze in another nap before dinner time.

Will be back very soon.

Blog post No 14. Being good

Just a quick update on how we all are.

My new foster brother is exhausting...... to watch.

This is a rare moment when he finally stopped moving and fell asleep.

I have announced that he definitely cannot share MY blog and he can jolly well start his own.

Although to be honest I am not sure he could ever sit still long enough to type a few sentences, let alone a whole blog post.

 Here is a nice photo of me being a very good boy and relaxing while listening to the wind and rain outside and  Gryffin in the next room.

Am I being watched?

Blog post No 13. The new house guest has arrived.

Hello again.

My new foster brother has arrived.

I was told he was a Wire Haired Fox Terrier.

At the moment I, personally, think that he a cross between a WFT and a Mountain Goat.

He has lots of toys to play with, not to mention all his treats and chews.

He better not eat mine!

You may remember, I prefer not to share anything.

He does have quiet moments when he snoozes.

These are good for him and for me.

I am an agile lad and can keep up with life very well,

but oh boy this lad is a really busy bee.

I am making sure I have lots of naps each day.

I definitely need them.

Blog post No 12. Making choices.

Hello

Me again.

Today I am going to write about choices.

My staff, as you know, are very attentive and I am allowed to choose, for the most part, what I want to do.

Yesterday afternoon they thought I would enjoy a trot around outside.
I thought that was a great idea, sniff out some moles and mice and chase the local feral cats.

However, they failed to mention the brisk south easterly "breeze".

I am not a meteorologist but even I can distinguish between a breeze and a gale force wind..... certainly when it is heading towards my derriere.

I, therefore, chose to stay close to the protected areas away from the "hurricane" brisk breeze.

My choice.

I wasn't going to risk going into a field with no protection from the elements.

So back we went.

My choice.

Here is photographic evidence of the brisk breeze.

The trees were not standing still and upright as they should be!

Let me in please.

HURRY UP!

Blog post No 11. Barking out orders.

I fancied taking the staff out for a little walk the other day.

Talk about faff!

I had my harness and lead on in minutes and stood patiently by the door.

They on the other hand needed to stop running around in circles wondering which shoes to wear, should they take a coat? If so which coat?
Then there was a weather check on their iPhones.

Oh the faffing went on for ever.

 "Come on, hurry up!"

Some days I really do have to bark out orders.

Blog post No 10. September update.

 Hello.

It's me again.

Reporting in to let you know what has been happening around here..

The BIG Furry One has left us,  he employed permanent new staff, after conducting his own home check and trying out all the facilities,  and is now settling nicely into his Forever Home.

We wish him lots of fun and happiness in his new home.

I, however,  will miss him a lot as I was always up for exercising my vocal cords..... trying to out bark him, but he certainly had the loudest and deepest bark in our neighbourhood.

 I will miss providing back up when the Postman arrives each morning.

The Postman's feet would barely touch the ground as he got out of  his little red van each morning and posted our letters through the letter box.  He would then fling himself back into his van at a speed even Usain Bolt would have been impressed with as he disappeared down the lane at 90mph with ears ringing from us all barking at him.

Oh it was such fun.

~~~~~~
My foster staff had a little holiday a few weeks ago and I went and spent some time with some of my pals.
I had a lovely time away and came back nice and dirty.
So can you guess what happened the minute my paws stepped over the threshold?
Yep, I ended up in the bath AGAIN!
I felt this to be rather unfair as I already had a Spa Day booked in for 3 days later.
Two baths in one week!
I will become wrinkly at this rate, either that or shrink!
Looking very smart, even if I do say so myself!
This photo was taken after the second bath and my nice groomer gave me a  trim and fluffed me up rather nicely.
More news....
Rumour has it I am getting another foster brother soon.
I hope I like him and he likes me.
One thing I do know I am not sharing my toys, he can bring his own.
As for sharing MY blog with him. It's MY blog, not his!
(Negotiations are currently taking place with my staff)
Apparently I need to learn to share more!
